Instrumentation and Controls Technician
(Atlanta Airport)
The purpose of this position is to perform Instrument & Controls technical and analytical services essential to maintaining reliable operation of the (Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport) HJAIA Backup Generation System (PowerSecure PowerBlock Diesel Generator Sets). GPC personnel in this location are required to observe and adhere to all protocols and procedures including those jointly maintained by SoCo and the HJAIA stakeholders. The successful candidate must be available to work a rotating shift schedule. This position will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting all equipment on the PowerBlock up to and including the customer delivery point. The successful candidate must properly and safely use a variety of hand tools, power tools, test, and measurement equipment in the performance of duties. This position requires computer skills to use work management systems for planning, recording, and reporting maintenance activities, controlling inventory, and trending equipment conditions. The candidate must be able to communicate with timeliness, clarity, and professionalism to internal and external stakeholders.
This position reports to the Generation Support Asset Manager at the Atlanta Hartsfield - Jackson International Airport (HJAIA). The position requires access to security sensitive areas of HJAIA to perform work duties. The successful candidate will be subjected to a fingerprinting, screening, and background check process performed by HJAIA authorities and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The position offers extended work life balance benefits, with a rotating schedule of seven days on and seven days off.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Job Experience and Education
An approved two-year technical degree from a certified technical institution or transcript showing completion of approved Navy Nuclear Electrical School
Strong knowledge of I&C equipment/technologies (including Controls, Distributed Controls Systems, PLCs, etc.) is preferred
Electrical background is preferred
Mechanical skills and experience with diesel engines are a plus
Pre-Employment Requirements :
Possess a valid driver's license
Must qualify on the EEI Technician Occupations Selection System (TECH) pre-employment test
Pass a drug test and FBI background investigation

Support a 24/7 schedule, including holidays, and covering shift vacancies when necessary. Be willing to support call out/on-call requirements

Develop and maintain good working relationships with airport stakeholders.

Successful completion of the Technical Aptitude Test for Instrument & Controls Technicians.
