Overview

Team Overview: Our team is made up of three distinct yet intertwined groups: Security Communications, Security Education and awareness, and Multimedia Design (MMD). The Summer Associate will work with all three groups on assigned projects and tasks and be exposed to different roles, responsibilities, and job functions.

Potential Project(s):

Education & Awareness:

  • Storyboarding Training Modules

  • Working with Instructional Designers to develop training in Storyline

Security Communications:

  • Drafting Security Communications to be sent out to specific audiences throughout the enterprise

  • Assisting Communication Specialists with Security Communication projects and awareness campaigns

Multimedia Design (MMD):

  • Developing slides in PPT for executive leadership presentations

  • Assisting in video development in Vyond

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or later.

Responsibilities

  • Support Security, including Information and cybersecurity, with internal and external communications.

  • Assist with the development and management of Security events, programs, communication, script writing, and campaigns.

  • Experience in copywriting, editing, and proofreading.

  • Proofread and edited content for standardization to ensure clarity and accuracy

  • Review Information Security communications for alignment with Navy Federal content and brand.

  • Assist the Multimedia Designers (MMDs) in the development of content, design, and layout.

  • Assist in the development of detailed reports and presentations.

  • Review and research the effectiveness of communications and change management activities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Studying adult education/learning theory, communication, design work, and/or a related field.

  • Basic skills with databases, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.

  • Ability to research, analyze, and organize concepts and create conceptual approaches and solutions.

  • Organizational, planning, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills.

  • Experience in managing multiple priorities and changing requirements/priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals.

  • Ability to maintain accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

  • Effective English grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30 PM EST
