HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Designer 3 to join our team. The Designer 2 will be responsible for designing and developing complex engineering drawings and models for a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design and be able to work collaboratively with other members of the team.
What You Will Do
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA.
Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.
What You Must Have
Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related experience.
Candidate must have Piping or HVAC experience
Candidate must have general knowledge of engineering drawing standards.
Candidate must have experience in working 2D/3D drawing for drafting and design.
Candidate must be proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a confidential security clearance.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

Physical Requirements
Ability to work in shipboard environment. Able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, shipboard, shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required. May involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels, riding ships at sea for extended periods. May require the ability to work while wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
