The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist who will provide the opportunity for you to be part of the current Continuous Improvement program and team, that aims to drive customer satisfaction improvements, product quality, new product introduction, R&D cost reduction, and manufacturing and operational efficiencies. This CI Specialist position will play a significant part in driving a CI and Quality culture change throughout the organization by utilizing the CI toolkit through all functional areas of the business. Individuals will use all facets of LEAN, Problem Solving, 6 Sigma, and Project Management, enabling the candidate to drive process improvements and change across the organizations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Drive the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement projects consistent with and in support of the strategic plan and business operating plan.
Assist in designing new procedures and methods for operational processes, by utilizing project charters with deliverables. Will work with site leaders to identify, modify, and sustain desired changes including reducing waste and improving efficiencies.
Interfacing with other departments to identify improvement opportunities to drive high quality and efficient processes.
Help Mobilizing Problem solving teams and supporting groups to streamline processes.
Facilitate Kaizen events to drive continuous improvements in operations, office areas, remote and transactional processes.
Participate in multiple projects and apply continuous improvement techniques leveraging Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to solve problems and build new capabilities.
Share best practices with other site Continuous Improvement team members and develop coordinated plans.
Be a change agent: challenge organizational leaders to drive continuous improvements; remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement processes.
Mentor employees to realize benefits from all continuous improvement initiatives and act as a change agent to the site/organization.
Develop and conduct lean training based on the site Lean training initiatives.
Own Lean Maturity Element and improvement initiatives for the site. Partner with site leaders on strategy and deployment of maturity objectives.
Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
BS/BA Degree or Equivalent
Experience with Lean/Six Sigma Tools; 5S, Standard Work, VSM, DOE, FMEA, etc.
1 to 5 years of successful execution of continuous improvement / Lean / Six Sigma efforts and enabling efficiency, effectiveness, and tangible financial benefit.
Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Hands-on and demonstrated experience with continuous improvement programs including deployment of lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
Experience in facilitating workshop, kaizen and training events.
Demonstrated successful project management experience and acumen.
Comfortable with ambiguity
Be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills in planning and organizing to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Ability to coach / mentor / inspire.
Excellent oral and written communication skills

In this role, the working environment can best be described as follows:
Occasional Light lifting up to 35 lbs
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
Office: Standard office equipment
The expectation is to spend at least 25% of the time on the manufacturing floor.
