Job Summary: Supplies and services the machining areas including the Screw Machine and Machining South departments with necessary equipment and/or services to minimize production delays. Proceeds on work assignments with a minimum of supervision and/or direction.
Job Duties:
Chip out machines located in the Screw Machine and Machining South departments as necessary.
Collect bar ends, chip hoppers, and scrapped parts hoppers from all manufacturing areas and move to metal scrap area.
Move material with forklift and/or C-core cart as needed to complete assigned work.
Empty all garbage cans, cardboard containers, barrels of dirty filters, and soaker pads in the Screw Machine and Machining South departments daily.
Utilize floor scrubber and mops to ensure cleanliness of floors.
Pick up oil rags in machining areas and dispose of in proper container.
Remove broken or oversized skids from production area.
Clean filters utilizing parts washer in the treatment room area.
Remove bailed cardboard bundles.
Instruct and train assigned other Chippers on work tasks, safety procedures, proper use of equipment and the importance of performing to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality standards.
Meet or exceeds prescribed requirements of the job or notify Team Lead or Manager of reason for deviation from standard.
Communicate daily with Chippers from other shifts and Team Leads as to priority of work assignments.
Work safely at all times and comply with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices.
Keep work area, equipment, machines, etc. clean and orderly at all times.
Offer suggestions for improving productivity, process, safety, or work environment
Perform other miscellaneous job assignments and related functions as directed by Team Lead, Manager, or other designated person.
Must perform as a team member with the willingness and attitude to work with others to resolve problems. Must also maintain a good working relationship with others within the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires the use of good judgement to comply with instructions or prescribed routines, and able to make minor decisions.
Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision.
Must have a team attitude and be self-motivated.
