The Role at a glance:
The Constellation Culinary Group at the New York Botanical Garden is a premier venue specializing in dining and events, renowned for creating exceptional experiences and memorable occasions. We are looking to add reliable and efficient dishwasher to our team in the Bronx, NY. As a dishwasher, you will contribute to the overall success of our events and daily operations by ensuring sanitary eating conditions by keeping kitchen equipment, cutlery and utensils, and tableware clean.
Compensation is $18 an hour
What you'll be doing:
- Wash dishes, glasses, utensils, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods as needed.
- Ensure all dishware and equipment are sanitized and returned to their proper storage locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and kitchen areas, including countertops, sinks, and floors.
- Assist with the disposal of waste and recycling, following proper procedures for waste management.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Collaborate with kitchen and event staff to meet their needs and ensure smooth operations during peak periods.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager to support the team.
What we're looking for:
Must-haves:
At least 18 years of age
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of dishware and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks as required.
