Job Description

General Profile: Recognized as an external thought leader and a key customer interface for a strategic function or discipline. Influences the strategy to address internal or external business and regulatory issues. Proactively identifies and solves the most complex business problems that impact the management and direction of the business relationship. May participate in the development of the business strategy. Leads multidisciplinary projects or initiatives. Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of individual capabilities and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide business leadership and expertise to the Applied Materials technical team as well as interface with the Applied Materials Finance leadership so that the business plan goals can be confirmed as customer starts Small Volume Manufacturing (SVM)

  • Be the focal point in renewing old and establishing new engagements with partners in the Heterogeneous Integration space as needed for customers

  • Eco-system engagement strategy - Prioritize and complete Contracts, NDAs, development SOWs with partners (equipment, materials, services etc.)

  • Manage executive customer engagements, responsible for customer-Applied Materials business framework agreements

  • Align and communicate business opportunities to different Business Units within Applied Materials. Utilize and scale internal organization business processes and tools.

  • Reporting business status to top Applied Materials executives. As part of a regular cadence with the Executive team, create comprehensive presentations that update Execs as needed

  • Recognized as an external expert in managing relationships with Applied Materials' direct as well as end-use customers

  • Demonstrates broad and comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories, techniques and/or technologies within own field

Business Expertise

  • Influences internal/external business and/or regulatory issues that have an impact on the business

  • Understand and amend as needed, the business plan that the customer has shared so that the financial objectives of the partnership are met. Key part of this is regular alignment on customer engagements as well as manufacturing allocation as needed from SVM

Leadership

  • Leads highly visible multidisciplinary project teams or initiatives; provides thought leadership

  • Engage with partners with conventional methods but also create non-traditional business relationships that may be first of a kind for Applied Materials

Problem Solving

  • Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems; uses ground-breaking methods to think beyond existing solutions

Impact

  • Impacts business direction through the development of innovative services or products

Interpersonal Skills

  • Negotiates with senior management, customers, regulators or vendors to influence decisions

  • With the goal to make customers successful in High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) in Advanced Packaging, establish the rules of engagement for a scale-up from SVM so that any gaps in the SVM strategy can be filled in the transition to HVM

U.S. Salary Range:

$172,000.00 - $236,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
