Job Description:
Caterpillar's Integrated Components & Solutions (ICS) Division has an exciting opportunity for an accountant who is interested in supporting diverse global teams that provide trusted engineering, research, validation, and manufacturing services to internal clients, as well as provides technology leadership to the enterprise. This Research and Engineering (R&E) Accountant role will not only enhance one's communication, presentation, and financial analysis skills through challenging job responsibilities and regular interaction with local leadership, but also provide opportunities for collaboration and networking across the enterprise. In addition, this is a leadership role that will lead a small team, as well as lead Business Transformation projects for R&E systems & reporting.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical expertise and perform complex accounting work that supports R&E processes
Enterprise coordination of R&E system processes in support of monthly closing and annual budgeting cycles
Development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures for access to enterprise R&E data
Participate in and/or lead the development and supporting business process improvements as part of the Global Finance Strategy
Direct agency workers providing timekeeping, invoicing, and accounting support as required.
Subject matter expert for R&E systems & reporting who provides guidance and training to the Enterprise for select time entry systems, R&E systems & reporting
Basic Requirements:
4-year degree in accounting or any 4-year degree with an accounting certification (CPA/CMA)
4-6 years of progressive accounting experience

Demonstrate exceptional communication skills
Demonstrate strong initiative, leadership, good judgment, and accountability
Strong analytical, process improvement, problem solving skills
Proficiency with large databases and advanced reporting tools such as Power BI
