Position Description
Serco Inc. has an immediate need for a Test Engineer to join their team in Herndon, VA. You will work within the Application Development team in supporting and maintaining a robust quality assurance process for testing applications including but not limited to our internal Financial, Workforce Management, Human Resources and Management's Business Intelligent Systems. This role will execute and maintain manual and automated tests and will act as a quality advocate within the Enterprise Applications Team to ensure quality assurance (QA) standards and processes as necessary throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
In this role you will:
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases
Identify, record, document thoroughly and track defects
Perform thorough regression testing when defects are resolved
Track and monitor defects to closure
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
Bachelor's Degree and proficiency in software testing/quality assurance, typically acquired through 2-4 years of experience in a formal testing role (or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
At least 1 years of experience in testing web-based applications
API/web services testing experience
Experience testing integrated 3rd party applications
Experience in planning the implementation of automated test plans and automated testing using either open source or commercial test automation tools
Knowledge of Database design and usage
Experience in Python programming, JavaScript and SQL will be highly valuable for this position
