The Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?
Reporting directly to the SVP & General Manager of Service Provider & Edge BU (SEBU), we are looking for a dynamic leader as VP, Edge Computing , who will have responsibility for developing solutions and partnerships for the VMware Edge Compute portfolio of enterprise products across all routes-to-market.
Working closely with engineering, product management, sales, business operations, global marketing, partnership organizations across SEBU and the other Business Groups across VMWare, the successful candidate will manage both the Product Management and GTM strategy and execution.
The role requires an individual with a unique blend of leadership, marketing, product, business, operational, analytical, partnering and influencing skills who can manage an existing, established and transforming product portfolio, as well as build and evangelize the vision and voice for the future for VMware Multi-Cloud Edge.
What will I be primarily responsible for?
Own the creation and execution of the overall product strategy and go-to-market plan for the VMware Edge Compute portfolio of products (Edge Compute Stack, Managed Edge Compute, Private Mobile Networks, and future offers) for the enterprise customers across all routes to market.
Understand our customers edge product needs, use cases and our competition to create leadership in this emerging category.
Own the strategy for VMware's investment in Edge Computing technologies, managing the investment case, and partnering with senior business group leadership to drive priorities and manage both organic growth investments and potential acquisitions to accelerate our success.
Build and grow a diverse and inclusive team of world class product managers and solution architects
Develop offers for all routes-to-market that meet the business objectives of POC's and closed business.
Develop and grow strategic partnerships with vertical and horizontal ecosystem partners and enable a select number as a route-to-market.
Establish and maintain deep relationships with key enterprise customers and partners at the executive level
Represent the Edge Compute portfolio to VMware c-suite.
Embrace a product lead growth mindset to unlock new routes to market where developers are key influencers in procurement decisions, and SaaS emerges as the primary way of delivering value to our customers
Partner with product leaders in adjacent groups to ensure that investments in the developer and app ecosystem are supported by our infrastructure level investments while unlocking a strong business on native public cloud
Embracing a data centric model for running the business
Lead with EPIC2 (https://news.vmware.com/company/vmwares-culture-built-epic2-values) values, develop a high-performing, highly collaborative team
Job Requirements
15-20 + years of experience in enterprise software development in management roles
Technically deep with a strong empathy for enterprise developers, Infrastructure architects and Operation technologist.
Understanding of Data Center, Cloud Native, Networking and Operational technology market with a deep emphasis on applications.
Experience leading products through initial launch to a business at scale ($100's of millions of dollars ARR)
You have strong experience managing large teams
Experience in both large and small start-up companies required
Excellent listening, oral and written communication/presentation skills with strong ability to influence people at all levels and in various functions
Strong teaming skills and experience to bring together diverse views
Innate interest in constantly learning new things and ways of working
Creates an inclusive, collaborative, and fun way of sharing experience and learnings
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related technical degree or experience. MBA preferred.
