Position Summary: A Critical Care Transport Nurse is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing safe, quality emergency medical and nursing care consistent with the American Nurses Association Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice and the philosophy and objectives of ProMedica. The RN is responsible for not only the delivery of comprehensive nursing care, but also for the supervision of care delegated to other members of the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN collaborates with the patient, family and other members of the health care team to formulate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the plan of care based on data collected from knowledge of the biological, physical, spiritual, behavioral, and psycho-social assessment of the patient. The RN practicing within the model of care delivery of TTH/TCH also functions as a patient advocate. As an integral part of the patient care delivery team, the RN accepts individual responsibility and accountability for providing excellent service, nursing care, and a positive customer experience.
Department Summary: ProMedica Air and Mobile is seeking dedicated RN's who enjoy taking care of critical care patients in an autonomous setting. RN's work with skilled Paramedics and EMT's in an unique setting taking care of medical emergencies utilizing a variety of protocols and critical thinking in the back of an ambulance or aircraft. PTN serves 27 Counties in Ohio and Michigan and transport patients from ProMedica Hospitals and Non-ProMedica Hospitals as well as Air scene calls.
Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing (3) Three years minimum experience of Emergency or ICU Nursing Current State of Ohio license as a Registered Nurse Must obtain Michigan RN license within two months of hire Must obtain TNCC within one year of hire and one Advance Certification (CCRN, CFRN, CTRN, CEN) within two years of hire Must obtain Paramedic Certification within two years of hire BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEPP, ITLS required, some may be acquired during orientation Must meet requirements for flight nurse, as this position will be required to cross train to flight if and when deemed appropriate by leadership Must have a valid driver's license Must be able to carry bags and gear required by the position Must be able to load and unload ambulance cots with and without patients
