Position summary: 2nd Shift Supervisor Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers. Tasks: . Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances . Enforce safety and sanitation regulations . Identify, correct and maintain quality standards . Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods . Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments . Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training . Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, in order to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs . Identify and resolve barriers to production throughput Skills: . Experience with standard work for operators, leads and supervisors . Experience with implementation and sustaining a 5S program . Able to perform time studies and make recommendations to improve throughput . Have held a leadership role in continuous improvement activities . Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times . Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work Interviewing, coaching and counseling to identify the best people for the job . Instructing - Teaching others how to do something . Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action . Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively and in a professional manner Attributes: . Oral Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. . Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. . Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. . Written Comprehension - The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Experience and Education: High School Diploma (or GED/ Equivalency) required.
