Job Description:
As a Quality Engineering Technician at L3Harris, you will be responsible for supporting the JROC focus factory teams by ensuring that products and processes meet the standards we set for ourselves and our customers. Success in this role will involve conducting inspections, tracking defects through root-cause and corrective action, and assisting in developing and implementing a variety of components for our quality control systems. Your day to day will involve Collaborates with quality engineers in developing inspection requirements and techniques and implementing quality plans. Assists in evaluating defect data to identify trends and collaborates with quality engineers to make recommendations on process improvements. Routinely interfaces with customer representatives.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the containment, documentation, and root cause analysis for defective material in a production environment
Provide baseline quality data to support daily and/or weekly yield reviews
Provide first-level triage for issues as they arise and positive interactions with production operators and cross-functional support personnel
Support DPPM reduction activities by leading production work cell touch-points on issues weekly
Support yield improvement initiatives through regular product and module build inspection by verifying adherence to workmanship standards and work instructions
Capable of lifting and moving items weighing 30-35 lbs individually
Capable of moving around the factory for several hours per shift (as needed)
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
An understanding that teamwork is essential to day to day success
Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Ability to train others on quality control processes and procedures
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management systems is a plus
Knowledge of quality control standards and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators).
Understanding of statistical data analysis techniques.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $46,000 - $86,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
