Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
Demonstrate familiarity with all Information Governance policies and standards, while enforcing those specific to Information Architecture as it relates to data structures, data movement, risks, and controls.
Participates in feedback efforts to define the mission of the information architecture practice, goals, strategy critical success factors, as well as policies and standards.
Ability to document, use and maintain data and information within USAA's information architecture tools and metadata repository/catalog.
Ability to understand the end-to-end data lineage impacts from information capabilities to operational and analytical technical assets (i.e., databases and reports).
Applies business knowledge to identify, define and document information capabilities/requirements, translating into a deeper understanding of how the business consumes and uses the data.
Maintains information and data (modeling and taxonomy) development activities to understand data and its interdependencies. Collaborate with Business, IT, Data Governance, Program Management to ensure adherence with the Information Strategy & Architecture program.
Applies industry knowledge of reference models (financial, insurance, etc.) to identify, align and support analytical and operational information capability requirements (success measures) to help shape and influence business outcomes.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
4 years of experience in information or data architecture; or if Advanced degree, 2 years' experience in information or data architecture.
Previous experience with modern data architecture environments (Cloud, Hadoop, NoSQL, etc.).
Proven ability to embrace new technologies of the future and operationalize these to deliver value (Data Virtualization, Cloud).
Understand how to work with data analysis tools and leverage reporting and data analysis that molds the way user experiences are designed.
Demonstrated experience and ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Property & Casualty Commercial/Personal Products data and processes.
Experience with Guidewire Policy Center.
Experience with Business Information conceptual and logical data modeling.
Experience in Data Information Management practices.
Experience with SAFe Scaled Agile.
Experience with large data modernization projects.
Experience working closely with the Business to design business information models for IT to develop physical data assets.

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $88,200 - $158,900* (this does not include geographic differential it may be applied based on your work location).
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
Shift premium: will be addressed on an individual-basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
