Job Description:
As an Intern with Caterpillar Pontiac Test Systems Control, you will be working with a team of engineering, quality, maintenance and production professionals supporting the end of line testing of Caterpillar's world class fuel system components. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a team making improvements in safety, quality, velocity and cost while you gain valuable experience and grow your skills and knowledge.
Project scope and complexity will be adjusted to meet the capabilities of the intern. We would prefer an intern pursuing a career in engineering, quality or statistics. The intern needs strong computer skills with Microsoft Office type programs and TSC will provide the training needed on other special software such as Minitab, TMCS, etc.
Job Duties:
*Utilize Microsoft Excel and Minitab Statistical Software to analyze test data
Review and Update test machine offset limits
Review and Update test machine SPC parameters
Review and Update process control part pass/fail limits
*Utilize Microsoft Word to update test-related work instructions
*Perform test machine aims utilizing Caterpillar Test Machine Control Software
*Populate test machine documentation into Sharepoint system
*Work with maintenance and TSC on implementing test machine continuous improvement projects
*Work with machine OEMs and Pontiac tool design on updating test machine documentation
Basic Qualifications:
*Candidate must currently be enrolled in High School going into your Junior or Senior year of school.
Must be 16 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Additional Information:
*This is a year-round program - June 13, 2022 to May 26, 2023 - Full-time (40 hours) during the summer / Part-time (10-20 hours per week) during school year
*Position is located in Pontiac, IL.
*No relocation package is available.
