Position Description
Join Serco as a Senior-level Logistics Team Leader managing and overseeing our Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) teams and our program's logistical objectives and initiatives. You will lead ILS teams that are evaluating and managing the delivery of new amphibious ships and landing craft to the fleet. Our program is led by a Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager, each having decades of experience working in the DoD and Shipbuilding Industry.
This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain, maintain and transfer an Interim DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.
Our Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation provides critical services to nearly all U.S. Navy amphibious ships and craft and supports surface ship maintenance, modernization, and sustainment. You will work closely with Government, maritime industry professionals, and support personnel. In this role, you will:
Assist the Logistics Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) and the vessel ILS managers at the shipbuilder's facilities, attend meetings, and coordinate efforts with Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion & Repair, U. S. Navy, Gulf Coast (SSGC); Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division-Ships Systems Engineering Station (NSWCCD-SSES); Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWARSYSCOM) [formerly SPAWAR]; Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS); Naval Medical Logistics Command (NMLC); Defense Logistics Agency (DLA); the pre-commissioning crew, and the shipbuilder
Support the assigned ship or landing craft Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) team
Ensure efficient delivery of products and services for the client
Develop and implement client's logistical policies, procedures, and programs
Perform business development and have budgetary responsibilities
Be familiar with a variety of the ILS field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals (a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected)
Perform a variety of tasks, and lead and direct the work of others
Provide resource data and product support
Research contracts and purchase orders for accuracy, track equipment and material deliveries and shipboard installation
Review technical manuals, drawings, and procurement documents
Participate in technical manual and configuration validations
Assist with Consolidated Shipboard/Shore-Based Allowance List (COSAL) load-out and validations
Coordinate Engineering Operational Sequencing System (EOSS) and Combat Systems Operational Sequencing System (CSOSS) shipboard validations
Collaborate with government and contractor personnel to develop logistical documentation per contract requirements
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor's degree and 11 years relevant ILS experience in an acquisition environment on DoD/Navy Ship or Craft Programs. Individuals with technical school or military certifications and more experience will be considered. Years of relevant ILS experience in an acquisition environment is defined as product support with a life cycle management focus and include activities and aspects that extend across the life cycle in more than one of the -Twelve Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements-, as outlined in Appendix A of the DoD Product Support Manager's (PSM) Guidebook and the DoD Integrated Product Support Element (IPS) Guidebook. Relevant experience performing managerial work in support of an ACAT acquisition program is required.
Expertise and work efforts experience focused on the analysis of the customer's business goals, objectives, needs and the general business environment to solve logistical problems.
Must be able to transfer, obtain, and maintain an Interim DoD Secret clearance post-employment.
United States (U.S.) citizenship.
Ability to operate personal computers and have good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility. Some work will occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials. Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to accomplish ship checks, validations, or load-outs, will be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.
Ability to travel 10% to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility or onboard ship while underway.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Expertise on the various elements of logistics, Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Contractor Furnished Equipment (CFE) systems, Configuration Data Manager's Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA), Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center Safe Access File Exchange (AMRDEC SAFE), Corporate Document Management System (CDMS), Haystack, Technical Data Management Information System (TDMIS), and other Navy software is preferred.
Experience with CDMS, Independent Cost Estimate (ICE), CDMD-OA, and other Navy ILS related software is highly desirable.
Relevant U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience in the ILS areas of ship acquisition, construction or repair is desired. Relevant Amphibious warship ship and/or craft ILS experience is ideal.
Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act of 1990 (DAWIA) certification is desired.
