If you want to work on a cutting-edge Air Force program, Serco has a great opportunity for you! As a Senior Virtualization and VDI Technical Expert, you will be supporting the B-21 Strike Systems Division (AFLCMC/WBS) at Tinker AFB, OK.
The B-21 Raider is the future backbone of the nation's bomber force, holding any target at risk and providing lethal penetrating deep-strike capability. You will be part of the DoD's benchmark acquisition team, providing bold and innovative capabilities in the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
In this role, you will:
Migrate desktops and relevant applications to the new cloud based VDI
Administer VDI support to end-users, including creating and deploying application packages in an VDI environment
Install, update, patch and uninstall custom and off-the-shelf applications
Assist in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures
Assist in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of new software and enhancements of existing applications
Work with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure system designs meet business requirements
Integrate new and modify major physical/virtual desktop images to create a baseline for deployment to client's physical/virtual workstations that are Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliant
Ensure compliance with DoD Secure Host Baseline (SHB) mandates and proper operation of applications, software, and IT systems
Develop Image Release Test Plan, which will be provided to client's Test Environment prior to release to the Production Environment
Troubleshoot datacenter virtualization problems and develop, coordinate, and implement corrective actions
Provide written technical specifications for end user computing devices
Support preparation of required network Information Assurance documentation
Manage vendor relationships
Support program meetings and working groups
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A SECRET security clearance with Background Investigation within the last six (6) years or on Continuous Evaluation. Ability to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP) access and apply for a TOP SECRET clearance
A Bachelor's Degree with eight (8) years of experience in maintaining virtualization IT systems, including VMware vSphere 6.x suite and Horizon View suite
DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management Level I certification, or equivalent
Additional desired experience and skills:
TOP SECRET security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and background investigation current within the past six (6) years or on Continuous Evaluation
Certifications in VMware Certified Professional 6, Desktop and Mobility (VCP6-DTM) and Datacenter Virtualization (VCP6-DCV)
Thorough knowledge of the Windows and Linux operating systems, Domains, Active Directory and its concepts, and the interaction between hardware, operating systems, network, data center and application software
Advanced understanding of Network principles and technologies, Server and Shared Storage architectures, virtualization (VMware) and cloud technologies and containers and orchestration platforms. Understanding of hyper converged deployments and vSAN administration
Two (2) years SAP experience accrued within the last four (4) years
