Job Description

Instucts all represented new hires, regardless of craft or level, on Ingalls' EH&S policies and procedures. Co-Facilitates the "ShipSafe" training course including the hands-on kinestetic training. Once trained/certified, will instruct firewatch and RCRA training courses among other duties.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of three years of journeyman experience as a crafts person or a graduate of the registered apprenticeship program.

Ability to train new hires on proper safety behavior and have an understanding of PPE requirements for multiple crafts.

Familiar with common safety policies and procedures at Ingalls Shipbuilding.

Must be willing to work any shift.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work under limited supervision, with little/no instructions needed on routine work.

Previous experience as a craft technical facilitator, instructor, OJT/OJM role or in an EH&S capacity.

Familiar with company reporting systems (i.e. timekeeping, command media, Outlook, etc).
