PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) SVP, Financial Planning and Analysis at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to provide senior, strategic leadership focused on setting the financial direction of the business. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will oversee financial reporting, forecasting and analytics activities. The ideal incumbent will have broad financial executive experience spanning various lending and depository businesses. The incumbent will have the ability to understand changing market dynamics and proactively lead compelling analytics to identify and recommend actionable strategies to achieve company objectives. The incumbent will take ownership and initiative, display a strong bias to action and be an effective leader and communicator with the ability to collaborate and influence across the organization including the Executive Team and the Board.
Responsibilities

Build planning and analysis processes that deliver deep insights to senior executives, as well as business teams and other stakeholders.
Direct the overall corporate multi-year budget, quarterly forecasts and monthly estimates.
Identify and communicate key business opportunities, leading indicators of risks and advise the leadership team on appropriate actions.
Recommend areas for improvement and lead projects to enhance analytical and reporting infrastructure. Drive efforts to ensure processes meet quality and consistency standards.
Develop performance metrics and KPIs that can be monitored and influence decision making.
Serve as a thought leader across various stakeholders (e.g. business leaders, balance sheet management, accounting) to elevate analysis quality and depth.
Interface with team data scientists on developing use cases that leverage newly integrated finance and credit data.
Key stakeholder in monthly accounting close, reporting process and capital stress testing.
Perform tasks at the highest level of accuracy and efficiency, in accordance with US GAAP and company financial policies.
Lead and develop talent; ensure team effectiveness, engagement and integration within Finance and across PenFed
This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting, with at least twenty (20) years of experience, with 5 years serving in a VP role with direct management experience. MBA preferred.
Management Consulting, Corporate Finance, FP&A or Accounting experience is desired.
Experience developing and managing financial models with expertise in bank balance sheet and P&L reporting.
Passion to understand the business and develop data-driven financial use cases to address complex objectives.
Excellent communication skills to articulate approach and results to senior management, with ability to challenge assumptions using data evidence.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely.
Advanced user of Excel, demonstrated ability to work with complex sets of data.
Highly experienced with ERP and ERM systems (e.g. Hyperion, Oracle Financials, OneStream)
Knowledge of QRM preferred.
