The Role
As the IT ERP Manager at Caterpillar, you will lead a team of business analysts and work with corporate sponsors, internal/external customers, and other team members to implement/update Solutions that supports business processes and are aligned with business strategies. This position facilitates the optimization of business unit performance by aligning business process and information technology and is integral to any decision-making involving technology.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Lead a team of Syteline ERP Business Analysts on the development of business requirements, functional designs, process maps, user test plans, and training materials associated with business process and technology solutions.
Evaluate ERP application and infrastructure capabilities within the ERP Operations portfolio to identify gaps and provide ERP strategy and road map that would enhance business performance, effectiveness, and maintainability
Monitors performance of ERP team in issue resolution, downtime, and other metrics and establishes KPI's to measure and continuously improve performance and implements process changes for correction when needed
Facilitates user involvement in User Acceptance Testing
Responsible for actively resolving day-to-day technology needs of the user community with a focus on analysis and broad-minded solutions
Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact
Maintains full knowledge of all phases of technology implementations aligned to their user community; apprises business management of progress; keeps IT management aware of issues and potential problems, and resolves conflicts
Assists in the development of design and functional specifications to affect IT solutions as required
Participates in system configuration to satisfy business requirements in accordance with solution design
Drives the development business processes and priorities. Evaluates alternative business process and technology solutions, and participates in making technology recommendations to enhance business operations
Works in conjunction with senior leaders in other functional areas to ensure that program launches, scope expansions and the development of new business capabilities are supported and delivered within the business architecture
Analyzes and resolves end user application issues in timely and accurate fashion, ensure the stable operation of assigned and support modules
Assists customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.
Protects the integrity and confidentiality of information, ensure appropriate efforts to enforce security measures and change control processes to protect the systems and the data contained in them
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field and 7+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of exudation and experience
5+ years' experience as an ERP Manager
Advanced skill level in SyteLine (CloudSuite Industrial)
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
Top candidates will also have:
ERP experience in manufacturing, logistics environment, lot/serialization
Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives across cross-functional teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Look beyond symptoms of problems to develop sound, logical analysis to solve difficult problems
Strategic thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Subject matter expert of functional area process and tools
Experience with Agile Methodology
