Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Chemical Operations Advanced Technician position located in the Corinth, MS facility. A Chemical Advanced Technician supports the Caterpillar Environmental Protection Program by ensuring facility-wide compliance with relevant ISO 14001 Standards and EPA, OSHA and DOT regulations, as well as proactive planning and implementation of relevant activities to prevent water, air and soil pollution as byproducts of production at the Caterpillar facilities.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Work in a fast-paced, safety and quality focused environment to ensure facility compliance in the Chemicals Team.
Operator should have attention to detail and be self-motivated.
Operator will work in a team environment that at times is self-directed.
Operator is expected to cross train in other areas of operations to provide flexibility within the Advanced Technician classification scope.
Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 Standard, EPA, MDEQ, OSHA and DOT regulations.
Work to prevent water, air and soil pollution as a byproduct of facility processes or equipment.
Monitor controlling and regulating equipment used for waste treatment and HVAC condensation or byproducts.
Troubleshoot and corrects chemical baths.
Perform chemical titrations.
Perform analysis of water and oil.
Perform cleanliness audits and data collection.
Perform daily equipment audits and perform countermeasures as needed
Operate forklifts.
Read and interpret blueprints.
Ensure that contamination control best practices are followed and adhered to.
Perform chemical maintenance on production machines.
Change liquid and air filters in various machines.
Shovel debris from pits and troughs
Provide emergency spill response.
Perform dust booth filter maintenance.
Perform container management.
Perform tank farm maintenance.
Perform environmental compliance monitoring and measurements.
Perform wastewater analysis and treatment.
Provide oversight during the loading and unloading of chemical tanker trucks.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 12 months manufacturing experience
Microsoft Office experience in applications such as Word and Excel
Top Candidate Will Also Have
Environmental background
Chemical, Business, Economic or Advanced Chemistry college courses
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass a hazardous waste physical examination.
Must be able to pass a respirator physical examination and fit test.
Vehicle Questionnaire that in turn may indicate that a physical examination be successfully passed.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, climb steps, stoop, crouch, work in pits, work in confined spaces, able to look in microscopes and measure particles in microscopes.
Must be able to pass the 40 hours Hazwoper training, IATA, 49 CFR, Hazarous Material shipping by water and RCRA training within 6 months of assignment

Compensation & Benefits Offered!
Starting hourly pay rate of $18.90 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience)
This position is 3rd shift with an additional $.60 night shift premium
Work Hours: 10PM - 6AM; Mon - Fri (There will be a 2 week training period on 1st shift; 6AM - 2PM)
Up to $2,000 sign on bonus. Bonus amount will vary based on skills/experience. Incumbent will receive first pay out after 60 days of employment and second payout after 180 days of employment. (This equates to up to an additional $1+ per hour over 12 months)
The payout of sign on bonus will be based on acceptable performance and attendance*
40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)
