The Senior Operations Research Analyst will be part of a dynamic team supporting with the Department of Defense's (DoD) research, development and prototyping located in Crystal City, VA. Serco supports the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and other Defense Agencies with engineering and program management. The DoD customer's mission is to rapidly demonstrate and transition innovative capabilities to shape the competition space, counter emerging threats, and support long-term competitions by creating strategic operational effects through deterrence, power projection, cost imposition, surprise, and over-match. Serco develops and demonstrate prototypes to buy down risk and prove feasibility of game-changing concepts using existing and emerging Government and commercial systems.
You will be part of a Serco team responsible for highly consequential engagements with stakeholders impacting national security and the defense capabilities. You will work closely with customers and other Serco teams to deliver quality solutions recognized by DoD and other government industries as outstanding contributions in engineering program and risk management across the Defense enterprise.
In the Senior Operations Research Analyst position, you will:
Conduct analytical studies of military, commercial, or civil operations
Work on projects and/or programs that may involve engineering, scientific, information systems, logistics, administrative, or strategic planning expertise, and lead to recommendations to improve operational effectiveness
Play a key role in implementing projects and programs in the function
Provide technical and/or operational support to projects and programs
Follow established modeling and evaluation processes to determine the effectiveness of current operational activities and to determine problem areas and develop solutions
Act as a resource to managers and employees in the organization.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Perform a variety of tasks that involve applying a wide degree of creativity and may include directing the work of others
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
A Master's degree in a technical field
8 years of experience and a bachelor's degree can be substituted for a Master's degree
12 years of experience (with no degree) an be substituted for a Master's degree
10 years of relevant experience to include, conducting analytical studies of military, commercial, or civil operations
Experience and knowledge of engineering, scientific, information systems, logistics, administrative, or strategic planning
Significant experience with Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, and Excel
