Relocation MAY be available IF needed and IF you qualify.
This position will require approx. 75% travel throughout the state of GA. Primarily within the Metro ATL and North GA areas.
You Must live within a commutable distance of Metro GA/North GA and you will be required to attend all necessary meetings within this area.
Description
This position will be filled at an Exempt Level 5. Customer Solutions - Energy Services is an unregulated business within Georgia Power Company. Energy Services offers a unique, exciting, and growing small business environment while still being a part of Georgia Power. The Energy Services business focuses on customer premise energy conservation projects and energy efficiency upgrades.
This new Sr. Construction Coordinator position will coordinate energy services projects primarily in the MUSH market in Metro Atlanta and north Georgia areas. They will ensure efficient project execution that fully meets customer deadlines and contract requirements. They will manage the schedules, work scopes, and budgets for projects and the performance of all engineering, construction, and safety contractors. This position will also work closely with Solutions Sales Executives and fully support sales efforts by providing technical expertise and contractor feedback and recommendations.
** New Team member will need to live a commutable distance from Metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
Relocation benefits MAY be available with this position.
Candidate will use a home office or nearest company facility as space allows.
A company truck will be provided for statewide travel.
This position will be responsible for the following:
Ensuring effective construction coordination and project management for energy services and conservation projects
Managing engineering and construction contractor performance and provide consistent feedback on work methods and planning
Ensuring that contractors work safely and efficiently, and project construction is on schedule, quality work, and within budget
Reviewing project work plans and make recommendations and corrections as needed
Providing field and technical support to team as required to meet customer needs and expectations
Reviewing and approving final invoicing from contractors
Coordinating timely delivery and ensuring all materials are properly accounted for during construction and upon job completion
Working closely with Customer Solutions team to build and strengthen relationships with customers and internal and external partners
Working closely with Customer Solutions team to promote sales and address design, construction, and maintenance issues
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree considered a plus
The following licenses and certifications will be considered a plus:
General Contractors License
CEM (Certified Energy Manager)
PMP (Project Management Professional)
OSHA & Safety Certifications
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years coordinating/managing the engineering, construction, and maintenance of turnkey energy efficiency services projects including the following required:
HVAC and chiller upgrades
Heating and boiler systems
Central plants
LED lighting retrofits
System optimization
Controls
Motor and pump replacements
Water conservation
Compressed-air systems
Experience managing construction contractors required
Proven success with MUSH customers preferred
Experience project managing multiple projects preferred
Experience managing competitive bid process and selecting contractors preferred
Experience providing detailed safety plans and ensuring OSHA requirements are fully preferred
Proven leadership experience considered a plus
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Working knowledge of practices, techniques, and equipment used in energy efficiency services construction and maintenance
Proven record of safe work behaviors
Working knowledge of Gantt Charts and Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling software
Ability to work in a self-directed environment
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including with customers
Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems
Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and communicate construction plans and specifications
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to handle multiple projects at various stages of engineering and construction
General knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to organize and accurately document the work planned and performed
Available for travel and after-hours, weekend, and holiday work
