Job Description:
This position will work closely with the contracts team, program managers and finance on a diversified portfolio of DoD and comercial contracts and proposals. The contract specialist is responsible for drafting, nondisclosure agreements and creating proposals, reviewing contracts prior to signature and managing contracts from proposal through closeout.
This position will work under the integrated Mission Systems Segment which supports a diverse Business Area, with Customers from various USG Departments and Agencies, as well as large and small business Prime Contractors.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in a business or related field and 3+ Years' relevant experience.
Experience with FAR, DFAR, ITAR, EAR, CAS regulations from working with Government Contracts.
Experience with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Team player who is a problem solver and self-starter.
Excellent presentation skills, strong analytical abilities and self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance from the U.S. Government which requries U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS) and other agency regulations.
Government and Commercial Contracts experience.
The qualified individual must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with all internal and external customers.
Experience in providing business, contractual and risk mitigation strategies to support the needs of the program.
Experience in all aspects of the contract life cycle including, contracts administration, proposal preparation and close-out.
Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationship, provide RFP shaping/analysis and have participated in proposal development and bid strategy.
Familiarity with International Agreements and Terms and Conditions.
Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.
Ability to handle multiple assignments and achieve program goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Negotiation experience
Demonstrated business acumen/finance experience
Demonstrated ability to build relationships
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
NCMA professional certifications (CPCM, CFCM, etc)
