As a Configuration Management Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring stability, efficiency, and compliance of software delivery environments. While this position offers some work from home flexibility, you will need to go to our customer site at least 2-3 times a week in Orlando, FL. Therefore, we are looking for talented Configuration Management Engineers in the Orlando area, or willing to relocate to that area. You must also be a U.S. citizen in order to be eligible to obtain U.S. Dept. of Defense security clearance, which is also a requirement for this opportunity.
Responsibilities
Configuration Control:Establish and maintain version control processes and systems for all software and hardware components, including source code, documentation, and digital assets.
Change Management:Develop and implement robust change management procedures to evaluate, document, and coordinate all proposed changes, minimizing disruptions to business operations.
Configuration Identification:Define and document configurations within the organization's IT environment, creating and managing baselines for future reference.
Release Management:Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases, ensuring smooth deployment and compliance with release policies.
Build Automation:Automate build and deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reliability, leveraging tools such as [mention relevant automation tools].
Documentation:Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of configurations, changes, and release procedures to ensure transparency and compliance.
Quality Assurance:Implement and maintain quality control processes, including code reviews, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines, to ensure the highest software quality standards.
Collaboration:Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and QA, to align configuration management with business objectives.
Compliance:Ensure adherence to industry-specific regulations and standards related to configuration management, such as [mention relevant standards].
Problem Resolution:Investigate and resolve configuration-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain system stability.
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
4+ years' experience as a Configuration Management Engineer or a similar role in IT/Software Delivery operations.
Proficiency with version control systems like Git, Subversion, or Mercurial.
Strong scripting skills for automation (e.g., Python, Shell).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Jira) and Containerization and Orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Knowledge of industry-specific compliance standards (e.g., ITIL, ISO/IEC) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality configurations.
Experience in Microsoft 365 SharePoint web development and commercial CM tools is a plus!
