GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the RN, provides a variety of uncomplicated clinical treatments and services for assigned patients in a patient care area. Reports to department management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient populations under the direction of the RN.
Completes non-clinical procedures appropriately under the direction of the RN.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Current certification as a nurse assistant, medical technician, medical assistant, or emergency medical technician.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Actively enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program with completion of at least two semesters of clinical rotation.
Previous Nursing Care Partner experience at CHKD (within 2 years); completion of the nursing student extern program at CHKD; graduate of an accredited nursing school program (without successful completion of the NCLEX board exam); or, completion of a hospital-based training program for unlicensed assistive roles with similar clinical competencies.
CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working condition due to performance of certain patient care activities.
