The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

The Transportation Manager 3 will be developing and managing the strategy to support the Caterpillar Service Parts Inbound network design flow for inbound transportation performance, entry-point engineering, and regional sourcing focus areas.
Responsibilities:
Developing supply chain solutions and applying technology for network optimization projects, including network simulation, modeling, problem solving, design, development, and application of software solutions
Lead and support strategic projects with ILS transportation and Network velocity teams to investigate and recommend transportation solutions to drive inbound transportation cost improvements
Accountable for the inbound supply chain design and the resulting performance, including but not limited to the operational cost, freight costs, and pipeline inventory
Manage the Inbound network optimization project pipeline which includes leading cross functional workshops for project pipeline development and providing execution teams with prioritization of where to work
Department lead for relevant benchmarking for within and outside industry for investigating and recommending transportation and network flow solutions to complex supply chain issues and for continuous improvement efforts
Manage personnel located in multiple locations with responsibility for providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations
Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or Engineering
8-10 years' experience in transportation/supply chain management or related field
Analytics and problem-solving skills
Project management experience
Ability to build effective cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up-to 25% of the time
Top candidates will also have :
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification
SAS, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI (or other data visualization software)
