Ship/Submarine/Shore Quality Control Specialist II - San Diego, CA
Serco is seeking applicants for a Quality Control Specialist II for Ship/Submarine/Shore C5ISR production, installation, integration and testing in the SI2 Business Unit located in San Diego, CA.
In this role, you will:
Responsible for quality control and quality surveillance of all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with the Quality Management System and applicable regulatory requirements as directed.
Develop, update and audit quality assurance QA workbooks and associated objective quality evidence.
Perform documented surveillances on workmanship quality, safety and compliance to personal and equipment safety requirements.
Conducts Quality Process internal audits, reviews/analyzes data and documentation, and completes audit reports and complete other quality control record keeping and training duties as directed.
Able to track milestones for government tasks and planning.
Provide weekly status reports.
Contribute to drafting Quality, Safety, and Environmental procedures, perform root cause analysis, conduct technical research, and respond to internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
Candidate must possess and provide documented Ship Yard and Shipboard Installation, Quality Assurance and Safety experience.
Initiate Incident reports, corrective actions and implement solution. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
Document experience and accept increasing levels of responsibility.
Able to track milestones for government tasks and planning.
Strong desire to excel in the Quality Assurance and Safety field and ability to rapidly adapt to dynamic scenarios.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
Requires a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the maritime industry or HS Diploma with 4-6 years of related experince.
Candidates must have experience supporting U.S. Navy Systems Commands
Ability to obtain DBIDS/CAC for access to Government facilities, US Government
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) required.
Must be able to work on ships, submarines, at a variety of shore locations, as well as in an industrial fabrication shop and office environment
Must be able to initiate Incident reports, corrective actions and implement solution. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
Must be able to document experience and accept increasing levels of responsibility.
Must be familiar with NAVSEA Standard Items and QA and Safety requirements as delineated in TS 9090-310 is required.
Must possess outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to build rapport with internal and external customers.
Candidate must be able to contribute to drafting Quality, Safety, and Environmental procedures, perform root cause analysis, conduct technical research, and respond to internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
Possible travel up to 10% of the time.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
OSHA-10 Maritime trained
Familiar with NAVSEA Standard Items and the SIPH
Process Control Procedure (PCP) development in accordance with NAVSEA Standard Item
Knowledge of 29 CFR and 40 CFR
