Duties: Work as an individual contributor to define, prioritize, plan and drive execution of various product lines for VMware's Cloud Provider Partner Solutions, such as multi-cloud platforms, subscriptions, cloud native applications, cloud infrastructure and management, and cloud networking and security. Write detailed user stories and supporting documentation for task definition at the engineering level for end-to-end licensing and provisioning. Review engineering and systems plans to ensure alignment with business goals, conduct gap analysis and develop and execute on contingencies, as necessary. Define, prioritize, plan and drive the execution of the vision for product lines. Apply business acumen as well as engineering wherewithal to strategize, drive and bring product to the market. Work with customers and cross functionally with product marketing, engineering, sales, corporate marketing and alliances to ensure whole product success. Define and drive use cases, user personas, product features/requirements, roadmaps and release plans for product features. Identify variety of customer needs across the application environment, drive feature prioritization and work closely with engineering to deliver successful products. Lead product feature planning process; ensure that product set meets the requirements of all applications which will run in, on, or be managed by the business units. Conduct competitive analysis and market research to guide product planning. Understand customer needs and requirements and represent them in MRDs and PRDs. Work closely with VMware customers, developers, and key VMware stakeholders including Engineering, Support/Services, Product Management and Sales. Understand market competition for product set and develop product and competitive positioning. Define, track, interpret and report key business metrics and drive activities which support continued deployment of applications on Cloud Infrastructure platform. Support planning, execution and go-to-market activities by closely working with the Product Marketing team.
Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or a related technical/quantitative field and three (3) years of experience in job offered or related position. In the alternative, employer will accept Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or a related technical/quantitative field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or related position.
Employer requires at least six (6) of the following skills gained through industry experience:
Drive product requirements, to include, definition, roadmap planning, execution or product launch;
Product management in the enterprise software technology industry;
User Experience testing, User Onboarding;
Project task management;
Deliver SaaS solutions to customers;
Agile methodologies and test-driven development models;
Jira Project Management Tool;
Subset of: C++, C, Python, Shell Scripting; SQL, Unix/Linux; TCP/IP Applications.
Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the VMware office in Palo Alto, CA. Multiple openings.
