Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Engineer for the Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) at the Griffin, GA facility performs work on project teams involving material suppliers and facility Supply Chain personnel to increase supplier capability, as well as internal supply chain processes, such as Material Availability and Clean to Build. Participates in lean events to deliver tools, processes, and expertise to Cat's suppliers and to enable them to replenish material to Caterpillar pull trigger systems and develop the supplier plan for every part. Incumbent is responsible to achieve PQVC targets across Inventory Level / Turns, point of use material Availability, Supplier Delivery Performance and Supplier Quality (ie: APQP, PPM, PCA) for a facility.
Job Responsibilities, include but not limited to:
Supports internal Supply Chain processes critical to Clean to Build
Works with suppliers to build lean supply chain capability in the areas of material replenishment to facilities, improved Sales and Operations Planning, high-velocity throughput, optimized logistics and capacity planning.
Works on project teams comprised of multi-functional resources, including facility supply chain planning, site global purchasing, operations, receiving, Global Transportation, Demand and Orders, Material Requirements Planning and Logistics.
Participates in lean events and works collaboratively with suppliers and multiple facility functions to address and resolve supplier issues using root cause and corrective action (RCCA).
Addresses day-to-day supplier constraints to improve supplier performance and their ability to respond to Caterpillar requirements flexibly and rapidly.
Performs work to deploy pull replenishment at supplier facilities, including supplier inventory sizing activities.
Performs the Supply Chain Planning Process with suppliers, providing support to project teams.
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired
Solid supply chain planning, demand and orders, logistics and manufacturing knowledge
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
0-3 years of Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management experience.
Equivalent verifiable experience on various assignments can replace education requirement.
Detail-oriented
Top Candidates will also have:
5+ years of Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management experience.
Knowledge in Supply Chain/Logistics Planning and Assurance of Supply.
Previous project management experience
The ability to work independently across multiple functional areas
APICS certification is a plus.
