As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be on a team that is evaluating and managing the delivery of new amphibious ships and landing craft to the fleet. Our team is led by a Program Manager having decades of experience working in the DoD and shipbuilding industry.
This position is contigent upon your ability to obtain and maintain an Interim DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.
Our Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation provides critical services to nearly all U.S. Navy ships and craft and supports surface ship maintenance, modernization, and sustainment. You will work closely with Government, maritime industry professionals, and support personnel. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors and marines. Our objective: to ensure our clients' mission objectives are achieved with the highest level of capability and assurance, and at the lowest possible cost.
In this role, you will:
ProvideC4ISR/C5ISRsystems expertise in developing ship change packages
Support meetings including WeeklyC4ISR/C5ISRmeetings with the customer. Facilitate MonthlyC4ISR/C5ISRmeeting with SPAWAR/NIWC.
Provide coordination/liaison with other Government agencies and commercial companies to address and resolve technical issues.
Participate in shipboard trial events upon Government request.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline is desired with 7 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience is professional experience of essentially the same scope and complexity as that described in the -Position Description-, above. Military or DoD experience can be substituted for a degree if 15 or more years of specific work experience can be demonstrated in an analogous or higher-level position.
Must be able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance post-employment.
AutoCAD experience, an in-depth knowledge of U.S Navy Amphibious Ship C4ISR/C5ISR systems and interfaces, and familiarity with PEO C4I and NIWC organizations.
Travel 10% required for the position. Ability to travel to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility, or onboard ship while underway.
Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility may be required. Some work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials. Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to accomplish ship checks, may be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.

Relevant Amphibious warship ship and/or craft experience is ideal.
Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act of 1990 (DAWIA) certification is desired.
Experience working within DoD/Navy ACAT I Programs is desired.
