Frontier Technology, Inc. (FTI) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer and Technical Manager to join our team of qualified, talented, and diverse individuals in the US Navy / US Marine Corps Market Operations Group. The candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience designing, developing, testing, evaluating, fielding, and sustaining warfighting capability across multiple Navy platforms. The candidate will have expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DoN) acquisition policy, program management, test and evaluation, systems engineering, performance assessment, quality and reliability engineering, maintenance and modernization planning, and human capital talent management.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement strategy to apply engineering methods and tools across the USN/USMC and Programs. Identify cross-cutting requirements and facilitate coordination across technical stakeholders and USN / USMC leadership - Influence decisions of the USN/USMC customer community to ensure mission success of programs - Provide expert technical advice to the various US Navy PEOs and Warfare Centers, including but not limited to PEO IWS, PEO MLB, PEO USC and NSWC PHD, regarding system and software requirements, acquisition strategies, contracting, budgeting and execution - Technology thought leader for the US Navy / US Marine Corp Operations Group including consultation and advising of future technology and digital engineering transformation approaches, strategies and trends in the USN/USMC domain - Works closely with the FTI Technology group and the USN/USMC Operations Group's multiple teams to architect optimum system solutions for our USN/USMC customers - Conduct technical deep dives in collaboration with government stakeholders and FTI technology teams to ensure end user solutions and FTI capabilities are integrated and effectively meet the customer needs - As required, support FTI Business Development staff at the solution architect and technology level. This will include support to customer meetings, authoring technical white papers and contributing to proposal efforts - Identify potential new program opportunities and/or contacts within the USN/USMC community and work with FTI Business Development, Technology Team and USN/USMC Operations Group to mature - Work with the FTI SBIR-developed tool suite and 3D (Data, Derive, Decide) framework to drive customer use cases for existing technology and, as required, identify gaps requiring new solutions - Reports directly to the Vice President of US Navy and US Marine Corps Operations Group
Education/Qualifications
10+ years experience in Navy systems engineering or related fields
Masters Degree in Engineering field or similar, required
