Job Summary
As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership to the Peoria S.O.S Services fluid analysis laboratory team and overseeing daily operations. The Laboratory Manager works in collaboration with the Global SOS Services team to ensure conformity to global laboratory processes, day-to-day management of laboratory resources and building a competent & engaged team.

This is an on-site position located in Peoria, IL.
This position supports a 24 hour, 5 days/week lab. Your working hours will primarily be day shift hours with flexibility based on business needs.
Domestic relocation assistance is not available for this position.
This position requires up to 10% of working time travel, both domestic and international.
What You Will Do:
Coach, develop & support team of shift supervisors and lab technicians. This includes but is not limited to employee performance management process, development planning and leadership of staff meetings.
Ensure compliance to ISO9001:2015 internal certification requirements. Decisions made by this position have impact on the quality reputation of company products.
Lead team to deliver on stated quality metrics (turnaround time, etc.)
Oversee the execution of processes, plans, and tools that support the global fluid analysis process. Monitors progress and addresses challenges.
Manage resources and budget related to indirect material & expenditures and Capital expenses.
Drive collaboration with lab vendors including supply chain and inventory.
Lead the development and implementation of corrective action and preventive measures to achieve quality targets. Investigate and address trends with internal and external nonconformance.
Provide support to Cat Dealer SOS Programs utilizing the Peoria laboratory.
What You Have:
Bachelors degree
Previous leadership experience
Experience using Microsoft 360 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Quality Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for Quality Risk Management; ability to implement the quality assurance process of assessment, control, communication, and review of risks to the quality of products.
Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.

Familiarity with operational and/or laboratory processes
Demonstrated ability to lead a team
Project Management experience in 6 Sigma, production systems, Services Marketing, and/or Lean experience
Ability to mentor, coach, and/or persuade others on new methods, procedures, and/or technology
Familiarity with company policies and procedures
Prior laboratory management experience
Prior experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS): i.e. maintaining quality procedures, document control, and continuous improvement
