Operations Team Lead
Job Purpose:
Serve as a working team leader in all areas, leading and supporting both team members and supervisors in an effort to achieve excellence in Safety, Quality, Velocity and Cost.
Job Duties:
50% Lead daily production (safety, quality, delivery, cost)
Provide leadership to a team of employees in every area of motor grader production
Train and develop employees on job skills, problem solving & cross training
Mentor employees and give recognition of positive employee contributions
Assist the supervisor with:
Adjusting manpower team by scheduling and assigning employees to appropriate areas
Preparing daily & weekly metrics for boards
Daily production dialogs with the team and management
Identify, help & resolve:
In-process safety/quality/process/delivery checks
Equipment, fixture, tool, process, quality, delivery issues
Product / layout changes
Coordinate issue generation with resolving defects and driving back root cause.
30% Continuous Improvement
Identify and drive to completion team controlled improvements
Support the Continuous Improvement process for all departments
Responsible for BIQ feedback loop and AQE closures
Responsible for 5S conformance
20% Cover for absences and/or production fluctuation (options/rework)
Basic Qualifications:
Must have 1 year of assembly experience
Prior leadership experience
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
Ability to perform repetitive operations.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs .

Demonstrates decision-making ability
Excellent analytical skills
Continuous improvement mindset, results driven
Previous team lead or training experience is a plus
Strong Communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers and customers
Experience as a welder, machinist, painter, or assembler at Caterpillar NLR is highly desirable
Computer literacy with proficiency in MES, AQE, and Microsoft Excel is highly desirable
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday 6:30 AM- 4:30 PM
Mandatory overtime required yet scheduled in advance.
