GENERAL SUMMARY
The Engineering Manager is overall responsible for the daily planning, work scheduling, coordination and operational performance of the department personnel. Retains 24-hour responsibility but may utilize Supervisory staff to coordinate activities. A high level of independence in performance of the role and/or solution of problems is expected, however, demonstrated cooperation and collaboration is equally essential for successful functioning. Reports to the Director of Engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and executes special projects as needed and assigned.
Serves as a resource to staff regarding specific skill demonstration, promotion of knowledge and communications.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments.
Provides timely response to routine work requests from hospital staff.
Performs other duties as assigned
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
None required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Technical training and three to five years of experience in electrical, plumbing and/or HVAC with a Master's level preferred.
Broad knowledge of all other trades.
Five or more years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
Previous project management experience is preferred.
Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle.
Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed inside and outside of the hospital in all weather conditions.
