The Role: As a member of the Sensus Professional Services Team, the developer will design and implement software based on customer defined use cases. This individual will work closely with the customers to ensure that design and deliverables are meeting requirements and expectations. The successful candidate will have the ability to multiplex and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, fluid environment. This individual will have experience interacting with clients.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement software applications and analytics for Utility industry

  • Has strong sense of ownership and drive

  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Is comfortable interfacing with Customer, Vendors, and various Xylem teams

  • Takes pride in delivery quality software

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of experience in a commercial software development

  • Strong object-oriented design and coding skills (Java, and/or C++), preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform developing Systems software

  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms

  • Have experience interfacing to databases, analytics, NoSQL big data systems or business intelligence products

  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have experience with OO modeling, web services, UNIX, middleware, Spring

  • Experience with Cloud Computing

  • Have experience with online distributed systems and platform infrastructure design and implementation

  • Delivered a low-latency, consumer-internet-scale web services operating in a 24x7 environment
