The Marketing Project Manager (PM) will drive the progress of marketing projects across the organization from initiation through delivery. The Marketing PM coordinates marketing resources, schedules, and project deliverables, all while maintaining high levels of communication and coordination across the marketing team and other stakeholders in the organization. This role acts as a liaison between marketing and other organizations and companies to ensure that marketing activities operate effectively within the marketing systems and processes, to include anticipating and troubleshooting problems, coordinating plans, overseeing scheduling, and developing solutions for workflow delays. The Marketing PM manages the communications channels and reporting for the Marketing organization. Understanding the broader scope of marketing operations, this role is expected to identify process efficiency gaps and provide recommendations and support to standardize and improve processes across the enterprise. This role works under only very general direction and independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Marketing Project Planning:

  • Lead and manage marketing projects for the marketing organization.

  • Contribute as an integral and collaborative team member with marketing managers on marketing strategy, campaign planning, cross-tactical execution planning and budget setting.

  • Evaluate marketing campaign performance to ensure goals are met within the team.

  • Manage project milestones and deadlines across the team and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with high quality output and results.

  • Delegate project tasks to other team members, as appropriate.

Support Process Development & Management:

  • Govern the various marketing processes by maintaining our blueprints and processes in Wrike for the marketing teams to utilize to execute programs effectively and efficiently.

  • Delegate tasks to appropriate team members in support of process development and improvement activities.

  • Organize third-party providers and vendors to deliver project elements in supplement to in-house resources.

  • Oversee the delivery of projects in the Wrike project management tool and make adjustments as necessary to ensure they are delivered to specifications and high standards.

Goal Setting and Reporting:

  • Establish and document realistic project plans with goals, deliverables, milestones, and assignments.

  • Strategize and monitor daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly progress.

  • Collect and analyze feedback from customers and other project users to gauge satisfaction and success.

  • Communicate progress towards goals and customer satisfaction to the team and leadership through reporting, dashboards and other methods of conveying data appropriately for consumption and decisioning.

  • Participate in/or lead team meetings and other organizational meetings in the execution of this role.

  • Maintain current marketing knowledge and expertise, including marketing and project certifications and other relevant marketing discipline credentials.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, operations management, or a related area of study

  • 5+ years of professional experience in marketing, project management or traffic coordinator positions

  • Working experience with job-related software applications including: Wrike (or similar), HubSpot. Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, Teams, SharePoint, Canva, MailChimp, and other applicable SaaS tools

  • Prior experience in Business to Business (B2B) or Business to Government (B2G) marketing a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in marketing automation systems, project management systems, ERPs, CRMs (e.g. Wrike, HubSpot)

  • Project management skills; certifications a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication for understanding project requirements and explaining project needs to employees and third-party providers

  • Attention to detail to ensure all specifications are met

  • Problem-solving abilities to correct any challenges or inefficiencies for the best results

  • Decisiveness and good judgment to address pressing project matters when time is limited

  • Leadership and motivation to guide team members in making consistent progress

  • Goal-setting to set realistic deadlines and strategize daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly progress

  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting

  • Excellent time management, with ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects

  • Team player with effective relationship and interpersonal skills
