Overview
The Cross Channel Analytics (CCA) team analyzes channel data and provides insights into how Members use traditional banking channels in combination with digital channels to increase Member satisfaction and engagement. The Summer Associate will provide support to the team by assisting in the development of reports, dashboards, SQL/Python scripts, and models using cloud technologies.
Gain valuable insight into Navy Federal's business, technology, resources, and procedures by providing support in focused areas, applying knowledge and education. Participate in a collaborative, team driven network, and interact with multiple departments. Receive guidance and direction from team and management. Utilize and further develop technical and soft skills, business knowledge, analytical techniques, and creative problem-solving abilities. Provide professional execution of day-to-day tasks and special projects while adhering to established standards, policies, and procedures.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or later.
Potential Project(s):
Develop SQL/Python scripts in Databricks and Azure Data Studio to pull channel usage
Create Tableau/PowerBI dashboards to better understand Members channel interactions
Build cloud-based ML models in Databricks to better understand Members channel interaction
Assist team with monthly reports, ad-hoc requests and analytical projects
Responsibilities
Assist in developing SQL/Python scripts to change data connection from On-premises to Cloud
Assist in developing PySpark script and build cloud-based ML models within Databricks to better understand channel interactions
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and dashboards
Assist team with monthly and ad-hoc analytical projects requests
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business projects
Process and update data in automated systems; may generate and analyze reports
Provide support to assigned department; may work on small projects or portions of larger projects
Support business strategy and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization
Assist and collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments
Perform research and analysis; may include quantitative and/or qualitative analysis
Maintain professionalism in all interactions, placing member service as priority
Provide comprehensive day-to-day operational support
Provide support in functional areas of the credit union
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other quantitative field
Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple time sensitive requests
Ability to effectively communicate with internal & external business partners
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment to make sound decisions
Ability to adapt to new technologies
Effective word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software skills
Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Experience in using any of the following programming languages: SQL, Python, R
Knowledge of data visualization platforms (Tableau or PowerBI)

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report onsite 4-16 days each month.
