The Role

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Provides technical support to project leads on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data; such as test results, troubleshooting actions, flow charts, block diagrams, and engineering design changes. Uses engineering documentation, reports, drawings (schematics) to perform analyses of data as part of supporting installation of shipboard systems controlled by PLC based control systems. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. Performs software troubleshooting to support installation efforts of the waterfront engineering and construction teams, uses information collected to design solutions in a variety of programming languages (e.g. PLC, VBA, SQL) and commercial Human Machine Interface development environments.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;

Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
