  • Source and negotiate price and terms of purchase with suppliers for new marketing projects/cost improvement projects.

  • Create purchase orders with raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers based upon customer demand and sales forecast requirements.

  • Develop weekly production schedule with required work orders for internal manufacture as required.

  • Coordinate delivery of materials to coincide with production schedule and customer requirements in support of on-time order shipment and corporate inventory levels.

  • Communicate with suppliers, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Service regarding issues that affect the supply chain and service levels, both internal and external.

  • Participate in process simplification through elimination/minimization of non-value added activities in the procurement/planning process.

  • Identify, negotiate, and resolve issues with material and capacity availability.

  • Update and maintain MRP and purchasing date, including purchase price, planning lead-time, lot size, safety stock, etc.

  • Issue work orders in support of production schedules.

  • All other duties assigned.

  • BS degree preferred or equivalent training/experience and a minimum of 3 - 5 years purchasing/planning experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) experience is required.

  • Knowledge of master scheduling and purchasing techniques required.

  • Good interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple project priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Computer literacy in spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation graphics.

  • Excellent problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
