To successfully lead a team to solve a technical problem or create critical component(s) and systems or processes within budget, while meeting the requirements of the internal or external customer. Specifically in this job you will focus on testing and simulations technologies. This is not a supervisory position.

Job Duties

The team leader role accounts for up to 50% of this assignment the remainder of the time, the incumbent acts as an individual contributor, bringing technical expertise to the project as well. Team leaders must manage their own development, continuously learning through experience new business knowledge and skill. Program/project management and strong organizational skills are critical.

In this role you will contribute to developing and utilizing cutting edge technology to enable simulation-based testing to perform more comprehensive testing earlier in the design cycle. This enables much lower cost and high velocity iterations in design and results in much higher quality product going to production to serve our customers. As an Engineering Project Team Lead you will lead a team as well as contributing on projects related to developing testing technologies. These technologies include both Software in the Loop as well as Hardware in the Loop solutions, and include autonomy as well as electrification projects.

The team works in a dynamic environment that supports flexible work hours and a hybrid schedule, splitting time between working from home and in-person collaboration in the office in Mossville, IL.

Interpersonal, leadership, and strong communication skills are required. Significant challenges of this position are working with people: enhancing the team's creativity; facilitating the team's cooperation; clearly communicating the requirements and tasks, while gaining input from the team on refinement of same; translating both verbal and non-verbal information from the customer, management, and team members. Project team leaders are the spokesperson for the team in meetings with multiple levels of management and with the customer. Team leader must develop good networks to enable them to obtain resources and cooperation needed and remove roadblocks so that they can insure the success of their team. Project team leaders may be called upon to give input to performance reviews for team members. Ever increasing skills in the role-based competencies of Managing Vision & Purpose, Decision Quality, and Negotiating are required.

Project scope will vary up to a moderate technical focus on a component, product, or process and will require incumbent to broaden business understanding. Although jobs/projects will have a relatively narrow focus, understanding and defining their benefits to the customer is crucial.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors in Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree plus 9 years' experience with HIL system configuration and test or a Master Degree in the same fields with 6 years' experience.

Experience in Software including Matlab/simulating, Python and C++ code

Experience with physics-based software tools for modeling physical Machines & Engines.

Knowledge / Experience working with FMI standard

Team & Project leadership experience

Familiarity with autonomous control systems

Familiarity with electrification concepts such as motor control, battery management, genset, and fuel cell technologies

Strong communication skills

Self-Starter
