Data Governance Expert
The Advanced Analytics and Cloud Program within KBR is proactively seeking a Data Governance Expert for a future opportunity in Bloomington, Indiana (awaiting contract award). The program supports government customers within the Department of Defense (DoD) on various projects to develop solutions incorporating technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence (ML/AI), and cloud infrastructure. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development and implementation of data governance strategies and frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the organization.
Work with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Provide expertise in managing and governing data within Cloud Environments such as Azure.
Oversee data lifecycle management, including data classification, metadata management, and data lineage.
Conduct regular data audits and assessments to identify and address data governance issues.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Develop and deliver training programs on data governance principles and practices to stakeholders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience/Technical Skills:
Extensive experience in data governance, data management, and data quality.
Proficiency in managing data within Azure.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
Experience with data lifecycle management, data classification, and metadata management.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience with technical documentation and reporting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in a data governance role within a government environment.
Familiarity with data governance tools and platforms.
Understanding of emerging trends and technologies in data governance.
Relocation to Bloomington, Indiana (or the surrounding area) is preferred, however, remote may be a possibility.
