Overview
Frontier Technology Inc. (FTI) is looking for a Back End Software Developer to support multiple internal Corporate and external Government customers. The candidate will work with other front- and back-end developers on small teams supporting multiple projects. Responsibilities
Help with the development of programs and tools used by FTI and other government, academic or civilian organiz ations by integrating user-facing elements , developed by the front-end de velopers, with server-side logic
Building reusable code for future use
Implementation of security and data protection
Design and implementation of data storage solutions and database schemas
Proficient knowledge of a back-end programming language to include one or more of the following - Python, PHP, Ruby, Java, .NET, JavaScript etc.
Create and analyze reliable and secure back-endfunctionality
Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Understanding accessibility and security compliance
User authenti cation and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
Management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes
Data migration, transformation, and scripting
Outputting data in different formats
Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Requirements:
2 + years of experience as a Back-End Developer
Must have experience using MySQL, SQL Server , Postgres , Django and other backend software programs
Team player
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
Great interpersonal and communication skills
Good organizational and time-management skills
Education/Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or similar field of study
Must be a US Citizen
Clearance not currently required but may be required in the future.
