As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be on a team that is evaluating and managing the delivery of new amphibious ships and landing craft to the fleet. Our team is led by a Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager, each having decades of experience working in the DoD and Shipbuilding Industry. Our Amphibious Warfare Operation provides critical services to nearly all U.S. Navy amphibious ships and craft. You will work closely with Government and industry professionals as well as shipbuilders and other support personnel. This position is contigent upon your ability to obtain and maintain an Interim DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop Preliminary Engineering Change Proposals (PECPs), Waterfront Change Packages, Work Items, and Administrative Change Packages. Integrate system changes to cable block diagrams and cable running sheets.

  • Develop response rationale for Government Furnished Information Deficiencies GFIDs, Condition Reports, Trial Cards, Variances, and Contract Letters. Use AutoCAD to develop design.

  • Support meetings including Weekly C4ISR meetings with the customer and other adhoc meetings. Facilitate Monthly C4ISR meeting with SPAWAR/NIWC.

  • Provide coordination/liaison with other Government agencies and commercial companies to address and resolve technical issues.

  • Conduct review of future change packages and determined package preparation dates in a joint review between PMS377 and PMW 750.

  • Conduct travel to outside activities and participate in shipboard trial events upon Government approval.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline is desired. A combination of 15 years of relevant work experience (education/internship/navy experience counts).

  • Must be able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance post-employment.

  • Experience with integrating system changes to cable block diagrams and cable running sheets is required.

  • AutoCAD proficiency, an in-depth knowledge of U.S Navy Amphibious Ship C4ISR systems and interfaces, and familiarity with PEO C4I and SPAWAR/NIWC organizations is highly desirable.
