The Returnable Container Management (RCM) Supply Chain Planning Engineer 2 is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the North American Returnable Container Network. This position will provide responsibility of ensuring all container orders are processed and shipped to facilities and suppliers and will work on special projects to increase inventory turns and improve order-to-delivery results.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Onboard suppliers to RCM Automated Ordering System and ensure all container orders are processed and shipped within standard

  • Update signed Container Loan Agreements with supply base

  • Collaborate with Business Resources to ensure facilities are charged properly

  • Liaison with transportation to ensure all container orders are passed to the transportation system and booked appropriately

  • Process new container requests from supply base and packaging engineers

  • Improve inventory turns and improve order-to-delivery results

  • Liaison between RCM network and packaging engineers at Caterpillar facilities

  • Perform other job duties and special projects as assigned by Caterpillar management

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  • 2+ years of progressively responsible Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Packaging, Procurement and/or Quality related job experience

Top Candidates will also have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging, Supply Chain, or Logistics

  • Certifications: 6 Sigma black belt, APICS, CSCP

  • Experience in Lean and 6 Sigma, CPS RIW and Value Stream Transformation processes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong project management skills and change management skills

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and cross divisional groups to achieve common goals

  • Demonstrated results in customer relationship management capabilities

  • This position does not offer relocation.

  • This position requires 25% or less travel.
