General Summary:
Responsible for establishing and maintaining the overall relationship between Dollar General Private Fleet and FMCSA approved Driving School(s) to ensure successful job placements. Accountable for all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (Driving School Relationship for each Terminal Location, Student Recruiting, and Conversion ratio. Responsible for locating potential employees who meet DOT and company standards and inform future Class A CDL holders about our operations and the benefits we offer.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages student relations at all dedicated FMCSA approved Driving school and leads External recruiting efforts to deliver results that include, among other things, Student to hire conversion rates, External driver retention, safety compliance, and maintain relationship with External Schools while utilizing the CDL Program in-process to track, and report results in partnership with HR.
Creatively source and develop a pool of qualified driver applicants using traditional and non-traditional techniques including social media channels, direct sourcing, networking, employment agencies, internet searches, postings, etc.
Manages safety by adhering to Federal, State, local, and organizational rules, and regulations.
Continuously grow the network and knowledge by staying up to date with industry changes, tech trends and community relations
Build and apply best practices, maintaining a mind-set of best-in-class recruitment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven leadership and knowledge of transportation industry, FMCSA Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) program, and DOT regulations.
Prior demonstrated high-touch customer service with Driving Schools and follow-up experience required.
Strong communication skills written and verbal, listening and interpersonal skills with strong problem solving and innovative thinking.
Excellent attention to detail, planning, and organization skills.
Proficient in usage of Recruiting software to track and measure hire ratios, school's success rates (Diversity of students & DG to offer trends) and manage a streamline scheduling to support with a continuous relationship with all Driving Schools, as well as MS Office software.
Ability to function in a high-stress environment.
65% travel required.
Work Experience &/or Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics preferred, or comparable experience with three to five years in transportation operations for a retailer, manufacturing company, major carrier, or logistics company required. Transportation experience managing at least 50 or more drivers and onsite driver management experience preferred. Driver Dispatch Management System experience preferred.
