Job Description
Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications
Assess closed and open work control document, which includes:
Selecting work control document (work package and/or IR)
Gathering all applicable (Drawings, IRs, ERs) supplemental documents
Constantly verifying work completion on the Carrier/Sub and/or Shop
Enter surveillance of work control document in a database (QUAAD)
Writing Significant Defect Reports (SDRs)
Verifying that corrective actions are complete
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience. Master's Degree and 4 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 12 years of relevant non-exempt, Manufacturing, Military, Shipbuilding or Trades experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Foreman and/or General Foreman experience
Experienced shipbuilder with proficiency in conveying design intent for their given discipline
Willingness to spend over 75% of the day on the deckplate
Planning and/or Scheduling experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills. There will be constant interface with deck plate personnel, engineering and planning.
DDMS, SAP, QUAAD, SWiMS and COGNOS knowledge is a plus
