Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Junior Project Engineer to lead the full lifecycle (to include sustainment) of Project Engineering support for a range of software and hardware development as well as integration efforts. The Project Engineer will be leading a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments in a growing business area.
Essential Functions:
Engineering/technical skill maintaining and troubleshooting using Automated Test Equipment.
Manage Test Failure investigations.
Lead external interface with customer for all Failure Review Boards.
Develops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities.
Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
Develop a schedule using Earned Value (EVMS), and manage a project using the Earned Value Indicators.
Chair configuration control boards and program change management boards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Experience conducting Test Failure investigations and Failure Review Boards.
Experience with automated test equipment.
Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Active Top Secret security clearance or higher.
Experience in optical space telescope operations/engineering.
Experience in ground-based space optical systems.
Experience with Government contract acquisition lifecycle and contract development a plus.
Experience with management of design to cost activities a plus.
Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities.
Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process and techniques
Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, etc.
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or Cost Account Management (CAM).
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
