As a Manufacturing Engineer , you will collaborate with the team in maintaining and improving processes and systems in the manufacture of the products produced in the facility focused on welding processes and automated/robotic welding of large structures. Further, you will analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.
Specifically in this role you can expect to:
Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes through a lens of continuous improvement.
Design and direct the acquisition of all necessary tooling and machines.
Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvements.
Procure material related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers.
Analyze and deploy engineering change notices.
Establish and maintain standard work.
Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements.
To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic qualifications):
A bachelor's degree in Engineering or an Engineering Technology discipline from an accredited college or university.
Ability to read and understand prints and welding symbols
A thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts demonstrated through prior experience working in a large equipment manufacturing environment
Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Proficient with AutoCAD
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers
Minimum of 5 years in welding and automation
Top candidates will also bring:
A BS degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or Automation
Current CWI certification from the AWS
Experience in PLC logic and programming
Experience in GMAW welding process
Experience in offline robotic programming (Fanuc or ABB)
Experience with 3D modeling programs (NX or Creo)
Experience with Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T)
Extensive knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Proficient with all Microsoft Office 365 products.
Experience with SAP.
Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data for make informed resolution
