Job Description:
This is a hands-on position and requires engineers to optimize and execute chemical and mechanical processes in the fabrication of printed circuit boards. Primary responsibilities are as follows:
Candidate will be responsible for executing process such has photolithography, etching, via plating, mechanical and laser drill, and vacuum lamination.
Candidate will incorporate new processes and tools as available and perform continuous improvement activities in the build flow.
Candidate will perform inspections of build parameters, generate, and track metrics.
Candidate will generate work and build instructions.
Essential Functions:
Interpret PCB drawings and CAD files to build PCBs.
Good attention to detail, highly interactive, willing to work in team environment and willing to learn new skills and rotate between manufacturing operations.
Responsible for performing a variety of chemical and mechanical processing operations.
Generate sequences of operations in performing printed circuit board fabrication using known procedures and processes and documenting new procedures.
Perform basic adjustment to systems and processes to problem solve issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Prior or current experience developing and maintaining processses for PCB fabrications and manufacturing/assembly
Experience interpreting PCB drawings and CAD files
Experience driving manufacturing process improvement and cost savings initiatives
Ability to obtain customer required security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems used in the fabrication process.
Self-motivated with time management skills to complete a task without supervision.
Must be a team player able to work in a program environment.
Experience with wearing PPE.
Experience with chemical handling.
Microsoft Word & Excel skills for following engineering procedures and recording process data.
Experience in lean manufacturing and leading process improvement initiatives. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to handle and manufacture microelectronics hardware underneath magnification.
